The English and Foreign Languages faculty, as one team with one goal: to win, is an enthusiastic and dedicated group of people. They are always student-oriented and available for advice. Over 80% of the full-time faculty are published writers of literary criticism, creative work, or monographs. One professor was a Pulitzer nominee. Three key ingredients that contribute to the success of DEFL:

1. strong academic programs;

2. dedicated faculty and staff; and

3. quality students.

The Writing Center is a free tutorial service available to any Valley student who wants assistance with writing assignments. It offers one-on-one writing tutorial with a purpose of helping students become more effective writers. The tutorial service is offered on a walk-in basis or by appointment
