MCIS Sees Significant Progress
November 14, 2012
The
University has made significant progress in improving the mathematics
and computer science programs during the past decade. Specifically,
curricular changes including
the redesign of core courses, the addition of new courses, the
acquisition of accreditation for the computer science program and the
establishment of tutoring services have all played a major role in these
enhancements. Improvements in the infrastructure
of these programs have been accompanied by a corresponding increase in
student's dedication to their studies. This new dedication has been
strongly facilitated through scholarships which support a decrease in
employment and loans by recipients. The major
outcome of these changes is the creation of strong programs which
contribute to the production of strong African American graduates in the
areas of computer science and mathematics.
