Welcome to the College of Education!

Whether you are just starting out on your college career, or a college graduate seeking to become a teacher, or a licensed teacher seeking an advanced degree in teaching, we can provide you with a program that will meet your needs.

At the bachelor’s level, the College offers teaching programs in early childhood, elementary, physical education and secondary school education.

At the master’s degree level, the College offers a Master of Arts in Teaching for the individual who holds a bachelor’s degree. This program, designed by the State of Mississippi to address teacher shortages in the state, allows college graduates to obtain employment as a teacher in the public schools while matriculating in the MAT program. The College of Education also offers Master of Science programs for licensed teachers in the areas of elementary education and special education.
