Linebacker Malone signs with CFL

Former Delta Devil standout linebacker Rory Malone has signed with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. The Mesquite, Texas native was a three-year starter for the Delta Devils and was a preseason All-SWAC second-team selection. In 2010, an injury forced him to miss most of the season, in which he played only four games and picked up 11 tackles and two fumble recoveries.

In 2009, Malone played in 11 games registering 76 tackles (10th in the league).  He had 38 solo stops and 6.5 tackles for loss.  He also had five sacks, two hurries and a pass breakup. He had season highs of 10 tackles and a sack versus Jackson State; eight tackles and two sacks against Lincoln; seven tackles at Arkansas State

In 2008, Malone tallied 72 stops with 41 solo tackles.  He also had 6.0 tackles for loss, three sacks and a forced fumble.  He had 17 tackles (2 sacks and three tackles for los) against Alcorn State, 16 stops against Prairie View and 13 tackles at Southern.
