Delta Devils roll past Jaguars

BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils ended their two-game road trip Monday night with a 58-53 win over the Jaguars of Southern University.

MVSU senior Paul Crosby had a remarkable night for the Delta Devils (14-11, 13-0 SWAC), who have won a school-record 13 straight games. The senior from Lansing, Mich. had a game-high 23 points and 15 rebounds to keep Valley on a roll.

Terrence Joyner contributed 14 points while Cor-J Cox chipped in 11 points and nine boards off the bench.

Cameron Monroe was the lone Southern (13-13, 9-4 SWAC) player to score in double-figures with 15 points.

MVSU shot 31.5 percent (17 of 54) and converted seven of 21 three-pointers. They went 17 of 29 from the charity stripe.

Southern, meanwhile, shot 29.8 percent (17 of 57) and went two of 16 from behind the arc. They hit 17 of 24 free throws.

MVSU will host Prairie View on Saturday.
