Graphic Designers
D'Artagan Winford and John McCall have been lauded throughout Mississippi for their graphic design talent, including recognition as the 2009 Designers of the Year presented by the Mississippi Ad Federation -- Mississippi Delta Chapter.
Winford, a graduate of MVSU with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, joined the MVSU Public Relations staff in 2003. He has extensive design experience and has won numerous CPRAM and ADDY awards from the College Public Relations of Mississippi and the Missisippi Ad Federation, respectively.
Winford received a 2010 Gold ADDY for his design for the Chambers Middle School Inspirations CD cover and insert as well as Gold for his advertisement for MVSU Saluting Jerry Rice's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He also won Gold for the MVSU High School Day Campaign; a Silver Addy for the MVSU 2010 Football Schedule; and Bronze Addys for the MVSU Admissions Brochure and MVSU Go Green Advertisement.
He won a 2009 Gold ADDY Award in Sales and Promotion for "Keeping the Faith CD"; Silver Addy Awards including Advertising for the Arts & Sciences/Arts, Poster for "A Funny Way of Showing It" theatrical production poster as well as the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Convocation Poster; MVSU Annual Report, Advertising for the Arts & Sciences/Arts, Magazine for MVSU Valley Renaissance advertisement; Collateral Material/Brochure, Color for the MVSU Inaugural program, invitation. Winford was presented a 2009 Bronze ADDY Award for the MVSU "Valley State" logo and a Bronze Addy for Elements of Advertising/Illustration for the MVSU Senior Basketball Posters.
McCall joined the PR staff in 2007. Also an alumnus of MVSU, he has been received CPRAM and ADDY awards, including 2010 Gold ADDY awards for the MVSU International Program Passport; a Silver ADDY for the Delta Research and Cultural Institute advertisement and a bronze for the MVSU Fall Career Fair in the Collateral Material, Special Event Campaign and for his design work for the MVSU Communique newsletter.
McCall received a 2009 Silver ADDY for Advertising for the Arts & Sciences/Arts, Brochure for MVSU Fine Arts Department Brochure; a Bronze ADDY for Advertising for the Arts & Sciences/Arts, Brochure for MVSU Fine Arts Competition Brochure and for the Elements of Advertising/Logo for MVSU Go Green Logo.
