Position Available: 



Job Description: 


Provides leadership to enhance the student experience, upholds standards of conduct to promote a civil community, and provides services that promote the personal development, health and well-being, and academic success of students at Mississippi Valley State University; serves as the senior administrative officer for the division in the absence of the Vice President and partners with senior administration to establish division-wide priorities; provides leadership and supervision of Student Affairs departments as assigned; serves as chief disciplinary officer for student behavioral misconduct; develops and implements student code of conduct; oversees Title IX compliance; serves a key role in crisis management and response; advocates for student concerns and acts as an agent to promote positive institutional change; enforces policies and procedures for a student grievance resolution process and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as university policies; provides leadership in developing initiatives to improve student services; effectively interacts with students, families, and other constituencies; creates partnerships that foster community, student civility, and social responsibility to build a vibrant intercultural campus climate; develops and implements student affairs strategic goals and objectives, including assessment and continuous improvement of student learning and services; monitors budgets for assigned areas of responsibility and seeks grants and/or new funding opportunities;  creates a campus environment that fosters students’ ability to live, learn and lead


Qualifications Desired :

Candidates must possess a master’s degree in student personnel, higher education administration, or a related field;  PhD/EdD preferred;  at least ten years of progressively significant leadership roles in student affairs; excellent financial, presentation, negotiation, interpersonal, technological, written, oral and supervisory skills are required; a strong ability to facilitate crisis intervention procedures; demonstrated commitment to work with all constituencies including a diverse students, staff, and faculty population; ability to work independently on sensitive, confidential and sometimes complicated issues with tact and political acumen; knowledge of program development, management, and evaluation, facilities management and planning, and budget management
