The Office of Judicial Affairs is committed to providing a fair and educational process that fosters the highest standards of behavior while promoting a safe environment that respects the rights of all students. Our disciplinary process allows individuals the opportunity to learn from their mistakes, while at the same time protecting the rights of all members of the University community.
The Coordinator of Judicial Affairs uses the disciplinary process to provide opportunities for students to discover underlying issues that are leading to the irresponsible behavior and to recognize their responsibility to the Mississippi Valley State University community. Understanding that our students are the leaders of tomorrow, we seek to help them develop their character and become a person of integrity through this educational process.
The Office of Judicial Affairs receives all referrals regarding alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct. Any member of the University community may file charges against a student for an alleged violation of the Student Code of Conduct. Such charges must be filed in writing with the Office of Judicial Affairs. The Coordinator of Judicial Affairs reserves the right to initiate or follow-up on any investigative leads where there is reasonable belief of possible violations of the Code of Conduct.
The Office of Judicial Affairs works with the University community to educate students about their rights and responsibilities as stated in the Mississippi Valley State University Student Handbook and the Student Code of Conduct. Our mission is to support the University’s educational mission and goals by promoting a just, safe, orderly, and positive University climate through behavioral standards, disciplinary processes, training, and intervention efforts.
